![]() ![]() Trying to log into Safe Mode, holding Shift key, computer just reboots in a loop Restarting router and computer, progress bar back to 1/3, me back to waiting ![]() I gave you context, a black screen showing a progress bar that has not moved for 24 hours, perhaps I missed the bit where this started by clicking the Update notification, but with a page title of Monterey Update stuck, I thought that was the topic of the conversation. There are no real answers on this page, so what makes you think starting another question, and talking about the same problem, would generate any answers there? Typically, on almost all forums I know, asking the same question elsewhere gets a load of answers telling you to go look at the previous user who asked the same question, which is what I'm doing. You're suggesting that a community forum only answers questions to a single user, if that user was the one asking the question. I have the same problem, so I'm joining the conversation. This is a community forum, which is where conversations take place based around the problem, not necessarily the user. Do you know, or are you just in the game of causing these problems? you seriously need to take a look in the mirror and come back into the real world, where Apple users are sat around for days waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting with no idea what is going on. It's as if you are in some sort of competition (with yourself) to see how big you can make the next update. Well done Apple for once again providing a famous Apple User Experience, and then blaming my internet connection. I've restarted router and computer, its on an ethernet cable not wifi and I have a 30Mbps internet connection. The progress bar has not moved for 24 hours. Hold on, I don't know if its downloading or installing because Apple can't afford the cost or time to tell me what's going on. Its a black screen and progress bar saying says Estimating time remaining, and it obviously can't do that either because that's been there since I woke up this morning.ĭoesn't matter what I do, it ends up on a black screen estimating time remaining, there is no way to log into anything. The Apple Recommended Answer is a joke, the machine does not start, it won't reboot into safe mode, it won't start in any mode other than Stuck Mode. Why am I still staring at an expensive paperweight? If its an installation issue, its downloaded already, why is it taking 24 hours+ and still not finished? If this is a downloading, router issue, do it in the background. Great! wait and wait, then wait some more (24 hours and counting) but why do i have to stare at a black screen and progress bar while its doing nothing? Eventually, Full Installer will download and a New Application in Applications Folder will present called Install Montereyħ - Stop there and perform a Time Machine Backup.Ĩ - If desired - have an External Drive - Copy & Paste the Install Monterey Application to external drive for future usage - making a Bootable Installer. Countdown clock may say 15 minutes but in Real time may be 30 minutes.Ħ - Same goes for clock at 10 minutes could be 20 minutes in Real time. Will load slowly - Normal.Ĥ - Once Logged in - open Apple Apps Store and Get the Full Version of Monterey.ĥ - It will take some time and several pauses will occur - normal. It does a Repair Disk, Clear System Cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and Fonts. If via Wifi - Disconnect all other Devices using the Wifi - want the Maximum Bandwidth only for this computer.ģ - Restart computer in Safe Mode. Restart Router.Ģ - Connect to Router via Ethernet Cable. Shutdown computer and disconnect all External Drives. This method may seem unnecessary but sometimes the Router Restart clears Network issues from ISP to Apple Serversġ - Shutdown Router. Drag and Drop to Trash and Empty the Trash.ģ - Too many other people downloading at the same time and Apple Severs are overloadedĤ - Software on the computer interfering with the download process including AntiVirus Softwareĥ - Running behind a VPN which may increase Packet lossesĦ - If via wifi too many Other devices using the wifi at the same time reducing the Bandwidth to your computer.ħ - Best Results are via Ethernet Cable to Router Check in the Application folder for " Install Monterey " if it exists. ![]()
